Philosophy Helps Find Deeper Meaning
by: Oyshi H, Luxe Fortuna Coaching

Philosophy can be a powerful foundation for teaching because it provides frameworks for exploring life’s deeper questions, understanding human behavior, and fostering personal growth. Here’s how we incorporate philosophy to enhance our coaching practice:
Promote Self-Reflection and Awareness Philosophy encourages introspection, helping clients question their assumptions, beliefs, and behaviors. We use Socratic questioning to guide clients toward self-discovery: “What does success mean to you?” or “Why is this goal important to you?” We help clients uncover their core values and align their decisions with their principles. Provide Ethical Guidance –
Ethics from philosophers like Aristotle, Kant, and Confucius can help clients make morally sound decisions. Often times life throws us ethical dilemmas which may impact clients in their personal or professional life. We take pride in aligning their actions with virtues like honesty, courage, and integrity.
Encourages Resilience Through Stoicism – Stoicism teaches the importance of focusing on what’s within one’s control and accepting what isn’t. We often use the Stoic principles to help clients manage stress, setbacks, or rejection. We teach them to shift their perspective: “How can you grow from this challenge?”
Cultivates Meaning and Purpose Existential philosophers like Viktor Frankl and Jean-Paul Sartre emphasize finding meaning in life and taking responsibility for one’s choices. We help clients uncover what gives their life purpose, such as contributions to their family, work, or community. Existentialism can help frame hardships as opportunities to discover deeper meaning.
Provides Logical Problem-Solving Frameworks Logic and reasoning, as taught by philosophers like Descartes and Kant, enhance decision-making and problem-solving skills. We utilize logic to teach clients to analyze their challenges rationally and break them into manageable parts. We provide custom templated to aide decision-making models to evaluate options and consequences logically.
Fosters Open-Mindedness and Tolerance Philosophy teaches critical thinking and the ability to entertain multiple perspectives without bias. In our sessions, we encourage clients to question rigid beliefs and consider alternative viewpoints. We introduce frameworks like dialectical reasoning to navigate conflicts or difficult conversations.
Inspires Continuous Growth Ancient philosophies like Confucianism and Buddhism emphasize lifelong learning and self-cultivation. At Luxe Fortuna Coaching, we promote a mindset of continuous improvement and curiosity. Our values teaches people embrace the journey, not just the destination.
Guides Emotional Regulation and Mindfulness Eastern philosophies, like Zen Buddhism and Taoism, emphasize living in the present and finding harmony. In all of our core sessions, we introduce mindfulness practices to help clients manage anxiety or overwhelm. We teach techniques on acceptance and flow, enabling clients to navigate life’s uncertainties gracefully.
We offer 3 major types of coaching, for life, professionals and for businesses.and a combination of all three with our Luxe Fortuna 360 program. Since the goals and focus of each type is a bit different, lets break down which philosophers can help influence our life and search for meaning in different ways according to our goals.
Life Coaching: Cultivating Meaning and Resilience
Some key principles of philosophy helps our clients find purpose, navigate challenges, and align with their values.
We help you to focus on what you can control and accept what you cannot by using Stoicism as taught by Marcus Aurelius and Epictetus.
Explore meaning and responsibility in life’s struggles by understanding the lessons by Viktor Frankl and Jean-Paul Sartre’s arguments of existentialism.
We help you define your personal virtues (e.g., courage, patience) and how to practice them in daily life, with the help of Aristotle’s virtue ethics.
Personal & Professional Development: Growth and Self-Mastery
Supporting clients in developing skills, achieving goals, and becoming their best selves. As Confucian would say, one must cultivate oneself. We emphasize continuous improvement and learning, creating excitement and a sense of a confidence along the way. We challenge limiting beliefs through reflective questioning as Socrates would do. And we encourage ethical decision-making by reflecting on whether their actions align with universal principles, as Kant did on his categorical imperative.
Business Strategy Coaching: Leadership and Decision-Making
At Luxe Fortuna Business Strategy coaching – we help clients make informed, ethical, and visionary business decisions. Some philosophies we add into our plans are utilitarianism (John Stuart Mill) – considering the greatest good in business decisions, game Theory (John Nash) and understanding competitive dynamics and strategic decision-making and Taoism (Balance and Flow), which encourage flexibility and adaptability in business planning.
